Winter is upon us !

Welcome to this month's news letter.

Nominations – Nominations for the posts of Vice Chairperson, Vice Captain and Ladies Captain will be accepted until 15 June 2016. Nomination forms will be available at the Pro Shop.

Advertisements – New advertisements for the tee boxes are in progress and the first new advertisements will be going up during June 2016. We would again like to urge members to invite any contact that would like to make use of this facility for advertisement. GM can be contacted in this regard.

Caddy Shack – Renovations to the caddie shack was supposed to have started during May 2016 but to due further contracts received by our new sponsors, Golden Steel Construction, renovations will only start in June 2016.  

Website – The new website of SGC is up and running and we again urge members to provide the Pro Shop with any news, photos etc that members would like to have posted on the website.

AGM – Due to unforeseen circumstances the date of the AGM has been moved to 22 June 2016.

Free Vouchers – The four free vouchers for members who pay their Annual Membership Fees in full before the end of April is currently available at the front office. Please note that these vouchers are only valid until the end of October 2016.

(Witkwas Muishond, Yellow Mongoose) – Due to complaints that we received from members of the club a decision was taken that no further feeding of the animals will take place. Notices in this regard will be placed at the club.

Catering – Due to the end of term of Say Cheese the catering of the Halfway House will go out on tender on Monday, 30 May 2016. New caterer will be appointed to start on 1 July 2016.

Support Manager – The process for the appointment of a new Support Manager is in progress due to the end of term of Mr. Jimmy Reynolds.

Handicap Cards – All members will be issued with new Handicap Cards which will be free of charge.

Closure of Club – The club will be closed on 20 June 2016 due to course management.

Generator – The generator that was supplied by the military will be connected during the week of 30 May to 3 June 2016 which will be of great assistance during power failures.


Compassion – The club would like to send condolences to the families of Mr Juluis Joubert for the loss of his wife as well as Mr Tim de Wet for the loss of his son.

We rely on our members for suggestions on how to continuously improve the Club.
