    Out of bounds Rule 18.2

Out of bounds is defined by the line between the course-side points, at ground level, of white stakes and fence posts. White stakes also mark out of bounds:

    • Left of the 5th, up towards the green
    • Right of the 9th
    • Right of the 10th and 11th
    • Left of the 18th, next to the 17th
    • Behind the 18th green, across the pathway between the garden and the putting green
    Penalty areas Rule 17

Penalty areas are marked with red or yellow stakes. Where the Committee has not marked or indicated the colour, treat the area as a red penalty area.

    Abnormal course conditions Rule 16
    • Ground under repair is any area encircled by a white line.
    • Flower beds are no-play zones. If your ball lies in one, or a bed interferes with your stance or swing, take free relief under Rule 16.1(f).
    • Young trees marked with blue stakes are no-play zones. If your ball touches such a tree or its bowl, or the tree interferes with your stance or swing, you must take relief under Rule 16.1(f).
    • Rocks behind the 10th green, in front of the 11th tee and between the tree line and the fairway right of the 18th are treated as ground under repair. Free relief under Rule 16.1.
    • Roads and paths on the course, surfaced or not, are immovable obstructions. Free relief under Rule 16.1.
    • Yellow Mongoose habitat to the right of the 10th fairway is an environmentally sensitive area, outlined with blue markers. Use of the drop zone is compulsory.
    On the course
    • All distance markers are measured to the centre of the green.
    • Keep up with the group in front of you.
    • Rake bunkers and repair divots and pitch marks.
    • 90-degree cart rule: stay on the cart path until you are level with your ball, turn at a right angle and drive straight to it. The rule may apply to all or some holes.
